6 Tips to Get Motivated and Inspired in Life

I don’t know about you guys but staying motivated and inspired is a daily struggle for me.

There are so many things that I desire to get done but a lot of times, for one reason or another, whether it’s social media or feeling socially exhausted, I become overwhelmed with a lack of motivation or lack of inspiration to complete whatever tasks I have to get done.

Over time, I’ve learned the importance of doing what I need to do to keep myself motivated and inspired.

I’ve come up with these tips based on situations that I have gone through and I hope these can be just as helpful for you.

1. Keep social media notifications OFF.

I’ve noticed that when I keep my social media notifications on, I’m constantly on edge. Whether it’s a status I posted on Facebook or a picture I uploaded to Instagram, I would find myself incessantly looking at my phone to see if anything came up and I’d make myself crazy. Turning my notifications off gets rid of the edge and inadvertently helps to develop an IDGAC attitude, because you shouldn’t. If you like what you post, and you put thought into it, that should be enough.

2. Encourage yourself the way you would encourage your friends.

I am so guilty of doing the opposite of this. My mind is filled with a million encouraging words ready to use when my friends need them, but none of those come up when it comes to me.  I have found that journaling encouraging words to myself helps a lot. I write down what I would tell a friend going through the same situation as me and then re-read it several times. In all honesty, I have felt so much better because of it.

3. Take necessary alone time.

This may be just an introvert thing, but I believe this has to beneficial for anyone. Taking alone time, whether to journal and reevaluate life, watch my favorite YouTube videos or even just sitting in silence recharges me. My mind eases and after a while and I feel ready to take on the world again.

4. Fill your planner with daily or monthly motivational quotes.

If you can get an inspirational planner that would be easier, but if you don’t have one take the time to fill your planner in yourself. Write in awesome quotes that you would want to be reminded of daily.

5. Fill your room with motivational/inspirational quotes.

Just like the planner, why not have motivational reminders all around your room? You can print out cute posters, make your own cutouts or even buy posters at places like Walmart or Target.

6. Create an inspiration board or journal.

Although I don’t have an inspiration board just yet, I do have an inspiration journal. In it, I remind myself of all of the goals that I want to achieve, and I write down blog content outlines and ideas. Every time I use it reminds me of what I’ve done, what I want, and where I’m going.

Part of moving forward in life towards our goals and dreams requires fighting off the daily drag of lack of motivation and inspiration.

Although we can seek motivation and inspiration in other people and things we should always take personal steps in our lives to motivate and inspire ourselves.

Keep pressing and don’t let anything hold you back from accomplishing, everything you want for your life.

Be your own motivator and inspirer!

I hope that these tips have been helpful for you guys. Let me know in the comment section, what are some things you do to stay motivated and inspired?

Xoxo,

Mara

  1. Mara, your posts are always so inspiring! In fact, #2 has given me some ideas to start drafting a new blog post.
Also, affirmations are great! I’ve totally been meaning to get on those. I don’t know why I’m procrastinating..

The thing that helps me get the most stuff done is writing out a to-do list. It’s super satisfying crossing off your achievements. And whatever you don’t get done one day, you can always move it on to tomorrow’s list. 🙂 xx

    1. Hi Katey! I’m honestly excited that you feel inspired by these, it’s definitely a goal for all of my posts. Also, I’m happy you found ideas for other blog posts, which I’m sure are going going to be great. Can’t wait to read them 🙂 I agree to-do lists are everything. I used to get worked up about not getting stuff done but now I just look at them as all part of my weekly plans. 🙂 xx
